Inneos' Real4K™ Optical Adapters Earn DPL Labs Seal of Approval
Product will be featured at CEDIA 2017 where Jeff Boccaccio will be on hand to answer questions

PLEASANTON, Calif., Aug. 31, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Inneos' Real4K™ Optical Adapters have passed the rigorous testing required to earn the DPL Labs seal of approval. DPL Labs provides technical performance testing services for video products using proprietary algorithms to test characteristics such as actual data transmission rates, eye pattern mask margin, jitter, bandwidth, impedance, noise, rise time, and inter-pair skew. DPL Labs also tests compatibility across a wide variety of video sources and displays using hundreds of case studies accumulated through their decade of experience testing video products.  By analyzing the detailed technical characteristics of a product as well as its "real world" interactions with other consumer electronics equipment, DPL Labs provides the industry's most comprehensive assessment of both performance and market readiness.

Real4K™ Optical Adapters are simple “plus and play” dongles that convert electrical HDMI signals to optical signals and back again allowing for a full 18 Gbps HDMI over distances as long as 1000 meters (typical). Optical cabling provides the extra bandwidth to enable video content that isn’t compressed or color reduced in order to get the signal from the source to the display. In addition, Real4K™ adapters can be upgraded in the field to Real8K™ optical adapters when available.

"We respect what DPL Labs does and are pleased that our Real4K™ Optical Adapters have passed DPL Labs' rigorous testing procedures," said Todd Whitaker, Inneos' Sr. VP of Sales and Marketing. "The DPL certification enables our channel partners and integrators to feel much more confident selling a new type of product like our Real4K™ Optical Adapters to their end customers."

Inneos' Reak4K™ Optical Adapters convert HDMI 2.0 electrical signals to optical signals in order to transmit 18Gbps over distances as far as 1000 meters. Unlike active optical cables, which are purchased at fixed lengths, optical adapters use HDMI standard optical fiber which can be cut to length and terminated in the field. This enables much easier installation as fiber can be pulled in advance with the optical adapters installed with the equipment. Upgrading to 8K will also be easier since all that is required is to swap out 4K adapters for 8K adapters when they become available.

"It is always a rewarding experience when something new and exciting enters into DPL's testing line up," said Jeff Boccaccio, President of DPL Labs, "Inneos was clearly one of these products that achieved amazing results for long distance applications."

Inneos will be showing Real4K™ Optical Adapters at exhibit booth #813, at CEDIA 2017 held in San Diego, CA, from September 7-9; and are delighted to host Jeff Boccaccio on Sept 7, from 10am11am where he will be discussing DPL Labs' certification process. Customers and potential channel partners are invited to come by and experience 4K "the way it was meant to be seen."
